The Private Pilot rating is intended for the student who wishes to fly as a weekend hobbyist, is interested in becoming a commercial helicopter pilot, or is considering buying a helicopter of their own. With a Private Pilot Certificate, you are allowed to take friends, family, or co-workers in a helicopter you rent or own. It is the first step on the path to becoming a Commercial Pilot. As a private pilot you are not allowed to fly for compensation or hire.

2. Apply for and receive your student pilot certificate.
3. Pass a written knowledge test to FAA standards (we will help you with the training and knowledge for this).
4. Fulfill the minimum requirements of flight time and ground training specified by the FAA (14 CFR Parts103-109).

PRIVATE PILOT ADDITIONAL RATING (Rotorcraft Helicopter)
It is not as difficult as many people believe to add a helicopter rating to your fixed wing certificate. Many fixed wing pilots want to continue their flight training and add a helicopter rating. At Angels 1 Aviation we will do our best to make it as efficient and cost effective as possible. Flying a helicopter requires skills and techniques that differ to flying an airplane. Many fixed wing pilots experience some initial difficulty adapting to helicopters. Some of the ingrained reactions in a fixed wing pilot are inappropriate to rotary wing flight, and it can take some extra flight time for pilots to work through those old habits. The Private Pilot additional rating is for the person who would like to add the Rotorcraft Helicopter category and class rating to their Private pilot certificate. To add a Private helicopter rating, there are several factors to consider. Most pilots will need the minimum hours that are listed below, but each pilot's experience will be different. The hours and costs listed below are a representation of the FAA requirements, keep in mind that your costs may be different. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
